The Cotswold Garden Co. are dedicated to making beautifully styled, elegant and most importantly, maintenance free outdoor furniture. By using materials that are durable and suited to the continuous strains of weathering we strive to create furniture does not need constant treatment, making our customers life a lot easier! Constant care is also taken on improving the design and aesthetics of the ranges we offer. Although the materials used are for outdoor use, our furniture is perfect for creating a comfortable conservatory, both the Havana (all weather wicker) and cast aluminium low seating ranges were designed with this in mind.

Below is a breakdown of the different types of furniture and how they are made to be maintenance free:

Cast Aluminium
All our cast aluminium products are sand cast and powder coated. Moulds are used to make components, these are carved from wood using our own designs then used to produce a fully cast table-top (with no welded joins). The legs and shelf are then bolted together to form the table. Chairs are welded together and stacking for convenience and strength.

Powder coating
After products are cast they are sanded down and put through an acid cleaning process to remove impurities so the powder coating will seal to the metal. The first coat of powder coating is then electrostatic applied, the base coat. This is put on as a powder form, a negative charge is applied to the powder and a positive charge to the item being coated, this makes sure the powder covers all parts of the furniture evenly. The item is then cured in an oven at 240°C. The wetting agents in the powder coating spread to form a film and then harden a seal the metal inside a the outer shell of the powder coating. Next the coating is hand finished to give the textured effect, the painted item is then applied with clear powder coating to protect the hand finish and again cured at 240°C. Powder coating is harder than traditional paint, it is evenly spread across a surface and bonds to the surface it is coating. There is also less waste and it is more environmentally friendly than traditional paint.

All weather wicker (Havana Range)
This all weather wicker is the latest and greatest technology in outdoor furniture. It features special inhibitors to prevent growth of mildew and is UV stabilized to prevent fading from the sun. The chair is constructed using synthetic resin fibers which are hand woven over an aluminium frame.  This material is stretch resistant with unsurpassed tensile strength to resist sagging or stretching. It is soil and scratch resistant so it is protected against soiling and abrasion from normal usage. It is extremely easy to clean with a simple solution of water and a mild detergent. Chairs stack for easy storage and table tops come complete with tenured glass tops held firm with plastic stoppers. This glass is very strong and tested in tensile strength to withstand normal use as a tabletop.

The all aluminium inner frame of tables and chairs are meticulously constructed for strength and durability. They are guaranteed to remain rust free through all types of weather and are lightweight for easy moving.  The combination of resilient, weather-resistant materials and quality workmanship mean that all season wickers will last and is completely maintenance free.

Tubular and Textoline (Mediterranean range)
This sleek contemporary aluminium and sling design is perfect for modern gardens. It comes in two finishes, silver frame with light blue fabric or black with mottled bronze fabric. The material is all UV resistant and completely water proof which makes it fade resistant and quick drying. Special inhibitors prevent mildew providing the material is clean and the powder coated frame is rust, rot and frost proof. The chairs are fully solid constructions for strength and stack for easy storage. Made from tubular aluminium and powder coated the frames are both strong and durable to the elements. As with all Cotswold Garden Co products the quality is second to none.
